Septic Tank and Grease Interceptor Diagrams
The most common septic tank has two lids.
We need access to both lids to do a complete and accurate service. This also allows us to see any deterioration or damage to the tank. Your lids and tank can deteriorate over time if it is not properly maintained or uncovered at least every 3 years.
The septic tank lids range in diameter from 18-22 inches and can be circle, rectangle, square, or football shape.
Tank lids vary in the distance on how far apart they are;
1,000-gallon tank - 5 ft apart, 1250 gallon tank- 6ft apart, and a 1500 gallon tank - 7ft apart.
A commercial tank can be anywhere from 7 -12 ft apart depending on size.
